In that spirit of service it’s time for us to give back to this fine city we call home. Please join us Saturday March 11th at 8:30am at Veteran’s Plaza [1952 Abbott St, San Diego, CA 92107] along with a member of the city council and community members to clean up Ocean Beach. Join us Wednesday December 21st for a 4pm tipoff to watch your Tigers take on their foes from that border state East of us. But wait! This isn’t just any Braggin Rights game, oh no. The San Diego Illini chapter has invited us to their watch party headquarters for a friendly competition for a good cause. Join us at McGregor’s Grill & Ale House [10475 San Diego Mission Rd] and bring non-perishable food items to donate to San Diego residents during this holiday season. Alumni Association chapter that donates the most gets braggin rights, really, good cause wins. So if you’re around next Tuesday, bring some food and celebrate this Mizzou rivalry. M-I-Z!

Going Away Party

goawayIt’s the end of an era. Our beloved President Jane is picking up sticks and moving back to Columbia, Missouri…from San Diego, California…in December….yeah. Jane has done a tremendous job helming this ship over the past couple of years and has made San Diego one of the top Mizzou Alumni Association chapters on the planet. Please join us Tuesday December 6th from 5:30-7:30pm at one of her favorite hangouts, Rockbottom Brewery [8980 Villa La Jolla Dr La Jolla CA 92037] for happy hour and to give this wonderful daughter of Mizzou a proper send off. Well get your Halloween festivities kicked of early this Saturday as Mizzou hosts the Wildcats of Kentucky at Memorial Stadium. With a 9am start time I know that sounds a little scary, might be a few bloodshot eyes around the room, but that’s ok, it will just blend with the theme of the weekend. Not making it back to Columbia for Homecoming? It just so happens we’re getting together to watch the game here.
